The Summer Breeze it is the sailboat of Seth Cohen, the boat is named in honor of Summer Roberts, Seth's crush at the time.

In the beginning of the first season, Seth plans to travel to Tahiti on the Summer Breeze during the following summer with his crush Summer Roberts. He believes that this is his chance to get away from Newport, a place where he feels as though he doesn't belong. However throughout the events of season one he makes friends and feels less lonely meaning he doesn't really feel the need to run away anymore. He tries to sell his boat to try and save up money for Theresa and her baby, but the sale doesn't work out.
When Ryan, his best and only friend, leaves Newport at the end of season one to care for Theresas baby, Seth believes that he will become a loner and that Newport will be like hell again. So he decides to make the trip to Tahiti alone on the Summer Breeze that summer without telling anyone.
In the beginning of season two however, we find out that Seth didn't actually make it to Tahiti. He sailed to Catalina, then Santa Barbara were he ran out of snacks and so freaked out a little bit and so sold the Summer Breeze for cash.
In The Rainy Day Women, Seth decides that the only way to win Summer back is to take her on a sailing adventure on board the Summer Breeze, a nod to his original plan to sail to Tahiti with her. He buys his boat back however, it has been modified to now be called the Gimme Sex, although Seth still believes that the gesture will still have the same effect.
